After walking away from Kell in Red London, Lila ends up on the Night Spire, a ship in the service of the Arnesian crown. The captain, Alucard Emery, allows her to take the place of one of his crewmen that she killed.

A Darker Shade of Magic is an adult fantasy book by V. E. Schwab. It is the first installment of the Shades of Magic trilogy.

The romances in the book also left me unsatisfied. While we get the romantic tension climax between Kell and Lila as they finally openly admit their attraction and affection for one another, I was actually more interested in Rhy and Alucard’s romance that was quickly summed up.

I completely fell in love with Kell, Lila and Rhy. Although there isn’t any romance in A Darker Shade of Magic, I’ve fallen in love with these characters myself, and I see seeds of possibilities to come. Slow burn love is my favorite, and I hope there’s at least one of those in this series.

Schwab revealed that while writing Vengeful, she had made the decision to merge her ideas for the second and the third book, making the series a duology instead of a trilogy. She has not ruled out the possibility of a third book, though if such a book was written, it would happen in the distant future.

Vicious is a British television sitcom shown on ITV. The series stars Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi as Freddie and Stuart, an elderly couple who have been together for 50 years but endure a love/hate relationship. The series premiered on 29 April 2013 with 5.78 million viewers.

Vicious was originally written to be a standalone since it was unsure whether it would be successful enough to continue as a series.

In truth, Vicious does tell the story of arch-nemeses Victor Vale and Eli Ever, but the book decidedly is not set in the Victorian era, or in University Ingolstadt, or at a remote Swiss château. Rather, Vicious takes place in an analog of our own modern-day (albeit in a slightly different world).

I mean, there is some romance in it but that’s not the main case in this story. Oh and I also loved the flashbacks in this story! If you’re looking for a creepy halloween book, but still not too creepy but interesting enough that you want to keep reading: read this book!
