Chapter 23: After the Aleuts After the Aleuts leave in their ship, taking Tutok with them, Karana finds many wounded otter. This makes her sad, and she spends a few days putting the ones that are too badly wounded to live out of their misery. But then she finds a young otter that has a long gash on its back.
