Nebraska is a shell of what it once was and what it used to be. Instead of rolling past overmatched foes in Lincoln’s Memorial Stadium, the Huskers are now losing at home to the likes of Illinois and Minnesota. That home loss to Minnesota, on Saturday afternoon, dropped the Huskers to 2-5.

There’s no reason for a kid to truck across the country to go to Nebraska now and so now Nebraska is not as good. Jones went on to say that the Huskers could have a few good seasons and could even compete for or win a national title in the future, but a return to consistent dominance isn’t going to happen.

Nebraska is in its 10th season as a member of the Big Ten Conference. After losing their upcoming game against Wisconsin due to the Badgers’ COVID-19 issues, the Huskers once again responded to adversity with petulance. Then with an attempt to flout the league rules.

In a meeting with the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Carter stated point blank that Nebraska will stay in the Big Ten Conference. “We’re a proud member of the Big Ten, and we’re intending on staying that way,” Carter said.

The Big 12 decided to keep their name, even though they only have 10 members, because they are always looking to add two more schools to their conference and thus would have 12 member schools.
