Steps to Recover Deleted Google Sheets, Docs or Slides In Drive, again open the hamburger menu and select Trash. Look for the file you deleted accidentally and right-click on it. Select the Restore option and the file will be restored to the location where it deleted from.

1. Open a presentation in Google Slides.
2. In the top right corner, next to “Present,” click the Down arrow .

Unhide the toolbar Sometimes, you do not see the toolbar because you hid it on accident. To restore the toolbar, open a Google Docs file and press CTRL + SHIFT + F. Alternatively, you can also unhide the toolbar using the arrow on the top right-hand corner of the screen.

View or revert to earlier versions of Docs, Sheets, and Slides files

1. In Drive, open your file.
2. Click File Version history. See version history.
3. Click a timestamp to see a previous version of the file. Below the timestamp, you’ll see:

Instead of having to rely solely on the “Undo” button, Google docs lets you revert back to any of the previous versions of your document. Check the activity panel

1. On a computer, go to drive.google.com.

To access your docs online, go to Sign in – Google Accounts and then sign into your Google Account and you are back in business. Files created using Google Docs can be deleted and sent to the Trash folder in Google Drive (there is no time limit for how long a doc can remain in the trash).

If the document owner trashes a document and then permanently deletes it out of the Google Drive Trash, it is gone—forever. Google can’t get it back.

On a computer, go to drive.google.com/drive/trash. Right-click the file you’d like to recover. Click Restore.

The other person finishes their part of the project and deletes it from their Google Drive, thinking that since they’ve handed it off to you and you’re both sharing it, you’ll still have access.
