Second Hiatus & Cancellation At some point, TNT discovered that viewers who watched Babylon 5 were not watching the network’s other shows, and vice versa. The decision was made to halt production of Crusade before the first episode aired.

Crusade is an American spin-off television series from J. Michael Straczynski’s Babylon 5, released in 1999. Its plot is set in 2267, five years after the events of Babylon 5, and just after the movie A Call to Arms.

In one sense, it’s pretty exciting because Straczynski told fans for years that Warner Bros. wanted nothing to do with the show ever again. To answer all the questions, yes, it’s true, Babylon 5 is in active development as a series for the CW.

After Babylon 5 was decommissioned and scuttled, Ivanova left Earthforce and moved to Minbar, taking up the role of Anla’shok Na. Ivanova died in the mid 24th century and was buried on Minbar. Before she died Ivanova had a copy made of all her memories.

Babylon 4 disappeared into a spacetime anomaly 24 hours after coming online in 2254. Reappearing in its original location in July 2258, the crew was rescued by Babylon 5 personnel, shortly after which the station disappeared again. After the crew was rescued, Jeffrey Sinclair took Babylon 4 to the Earth year 1260.

Yeah, that’s nearly two whole seasons the show keeps going without the Big Bad and most of it is very, very good (some of it is very, very not). Babylon 5 is both exactly as wild as it sounds, and utterly underwhelming in terms of execution versus expectation.
