If you side with the Minutemen without destroying the Brotherhood Danse would remain a companion. If you destroy the Brotherhood Danse would no longer follow you, however if you sent him off to a settlement before betraying the Brother he would remain as a settler.

Can you lose Danse as a companion after destroying the Brotherhood? Destroying the Brotherhood does cause you to lose him as companion. Sparing him during Blind Betrayal prevents him turning hostile at this point, but he will not follow you.

You can still recruit him as long as long as he is still alive (in other words you don’t execute him for Maxson). You cannot reach max affinity with Danse until you finish Blind Betrayal.

Will my settlement be threatened if i call in a Vertibird or something? The bos soliders may attack the settlers and danse. If a Vertibird just so happens to be there, or you called it in, yes, your settlement will be attacked, but only you and Danse will be affected.

As soon as I shot and killed Maxson, yes you can kill him during this mission, Danse decided he was now my enemy and opened fire on me.

If you kill Maxson, you make permanent enemies of the BoS, but other factions shouldn’t be affected. It does open up the mission for the Minutemen to destroy the BoS.
