Postmodernism is associated with relativism and a focus on ideology in the maintenance of economic and political power. Postmodernists are generally “skeptical of explanations which claim to be valid for all groups, cultures, traditions, or races,” and describe truth as relative.

So analytic philosophy is concerned with analysis – analysis of thought, language, logic, knowledge, mind, etc; whereas continental philosophy is concerned with synthesis – synthesis of modernity with history, individuals with society, and speculation with application.

Analytic Philosophy (or sometimes Analytical Philosophy) is a 20th Century movement in philosophy which holds that philosophy should apply logical techniques in order to attain conceptual clarity, and that philosophy should be consistent with the success of modern science.

Postmodernists believe that modernism is elitist and relies heavily on the separation of high and low culture. Postmodern theory suggests that these ideals are no longer relevant and claims that ideas and meanings move through culture without attachment to these dichotomies.
