Madame Loisel wants to lead a life of ease, comfort, and social respectability. She believes herself entitled to better things on account of what she thinks is noble ancestry. Because of this, she’s profoundly dissatisfied with her present life.

Madame Loisel values a lavish, rich life while her husband values a simple easy life. Madame Loisel is not satisfied with her life while her husband is satisfied with whatever they have. Both Madame Loisel and her husband are trustworthy, respecting, dedicated to each other and hardworking.

The moral lesson of the story, “the necklace” is that we shouldn’t live a materialistic life as it can make our life’s filled with sorrow and grief.

In “The Necklace,” the climax occurs when the Madame Loisel realizes that the necklace, she borrowed from a friend is truly lost.

In “The Necklace,” the surprise ending unhinges the previously implied premise of the story. Perhaps the most bitter irony of “The Necklace” is that the arduous life that Mathilde must assume after losing the necklace makes her old life—the one she resented so fully—seem luxurious.

Answer: During her time of deprivation, Madame Loisel plays her part “with sudden heroism” to pay the “dreadful debt,” after she lost the necklace.

The conclusion of “The Necklace” reveals the truth of the necklace to Mathilde Loisel. She and her husband have spent the last ten years sacrificing all comforts in order to repay the debt they incurred from replacing the necklace which Mathilde had lost.

How did Mathilde’s life change after she lost the necklace? She became very poor and took on menial jobs to pay back their debts. She would not have had to take out loans to buy a new necklace nor would she have had to work menial jobs to repay those loans.

Over the ten years, Madame Loisel realized what it meant to be truly poor. Her mindset regarding poverty and what it meant to work changed. She, too, was required to work. In the end, Madame Loisel did not only change mentally, she also changed physically (from the demanding work she had to do).

After the repayment of the loan by Matilda and her husband Mr. Loisel. Matilda had become strong hard woman, the cruel woman of the poor household. Her hair badly dressed, her skirts awry, Her hands read and she now spoke in a loud tone.
