The reason it is so dangerous is because it means the engine has a serious mIS Fire condition. This means there’s something seriously wrong with either the ignition, fuel supply or compression.

What Repairs Will Fix P0845?

1. Change transmission fluid and filter.
2. Repair leaks.
3. Repair or replace damaged wiring and connectors.
4. Replace transmission fluid pressure sensor.
5. Repair or replace torque converter.
6. Repair or replace valve body.
7. Replace transmission pump.
8. Replace pressure control solenoid.

The Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch (TFPS) is usually found attached to the side of the valve body inside the transmission, although sometimes it may be found screwed into the side of the transmission case/body itself.

Drive (D3) – This position is similar to D4, except only the first three gears are selected. Use D3 to provide engine braking when going down a steep hill. D3 can also keep the transmission from cycling between third and fourth gears in stop-and-go driving.

Press the D3 switch on the side of the shift lever to turn this mode on or off; the D3 mode indicator comes on whenever the D3 mode is selected. D3 mode can be turned on or off only when the ignition switch is in the ON (II) position and the shift lever is in the D position.

For faster acceleration when in D3 or D4, you can get the transmission to automatically downshift by pushing the accelerator pedal to the floor.

The most likely issue is a clogged fuel filter. When the fuel filter is clogged, the fuel pump has to work much harder, resulting in a far less efficient drive. This means you can’t get the power you need if you’re trying to accelerate when overtaking or going uphill.
