Holy: the Church is holy, because it is the Body of Christ with Jesus as the head. This does not mean that all members of the Church are sin free. It means that the Church and her sacraments help to make the faithful holy. Catholic: the word catholic literally means ‘universal.

Most protestants will call it the Sanctuary. Catholic, Orthodox and Anglicans will call in the Nave, the Sanctuary being the region around the altar. And for those same Churches the area in front of the doors is called the Narthex.

The Apostolic Constitutions, a work of eastern Christianity written between 375 and 380 AD, gave it as a rule that churches should have the sanctuary (with apse and sacristies) at the east end, to enable Christians to pray eastward in church as in private or in small groups.

A pew (/ˈpjuː/) is a long bench seat or enclosed box, used for seating members of a congregation or choir in a church, synagogue or sometimes a courtroom.

A kneeler is a cushion (also called a tuffet or hassock) or a piece of furniture used for resting in a kneeling position during Christian prayer.

Pulpit, in Western church architecture, an elevated and enclosed platform from which the sermon is delivered during a service.

Altar, in religion, a raised structure or place that is used for sacrifice, worship, or prayer.
