To download the data:

Working with fields in shapefiles by adding a field in ArcMap

1. In ArcMap, right-click the shapefile layer in the table of contents and click Open Attribute Table.
2. Click the Options button and click Add Field.
3. Type a field name in the Name text box.
4. Click the Type drop-down arrow and click a type.

Adding data from ArcGIS Online

1. Click the drop-down arrow beside the Add Data button and click Add Data From ArcGIS Online .
2. Click Sign In.
3. Type your search term in the Search control.
4. Optionally, click Details in this window to read the item description about the results listed.

Although ArcGIS Pro uses a new ribbon interface, it uses the same familiar basic concepts—maps, layers, and basemaps. ArcGIS Pro is included with the ArcGIS Desktop product. If you have ArcGIS Desktop and are current on maintenance, you have access to ArcGIS Pro and can download it from My Esri.

To work through the ArcGIS Desktop tutorials, you need to install the tutorial data from the ArcGIS Desktop Tutorial Data setup, which is part of the ArcGIS Desktop installation download or media. If the tutorial data has been installed on your system, look for it in C://arcgis//ArcTutor (the default installation location).

ArcGIS 10.0 Service Pack 5 can be installed on top of ArcGIS 10.0 or any ArcGIS 10.0 Service Pack or patch. Service Pack 5 is cumulative and contains the fixes from all previous ArcGIS 10.0 Service Packs and patches. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is accessing it.
