It’s because there are many more of us architects than architectural jobs. Basic supply and demand. If you get a degree in computers you can work at almost any company and certainly in any industry. With a degree in architecture you’re much more restricted.

Originally Answered: Do I need to be good at math to be an architect? No. There is very little math needed in architecture. Basic geometry is very useful but the rest of high school math (algebra and trigonometry) aren’t particularly important.
