Scientologists believe in an “Infinity” (“the All-ness of All”). They recite a formal prayer for total freedom at meetings, which include the verses “May the author of the universe enable all men to reach an understanding of their spiritual nature.

The Church of Scientology and its parishioners now own a lot of real estate in Clearwater, Fla., as reported by the Tampa Bay Times.

Much of downtown Clearwater is now owned by people or companies tied to Scientology, a report finds. What’s more, the Times found a Scientology magazine from the 1990s that listed goals for the new millennium. Among them was to make “Clearwater known as the first Scientology city in the world.”

Clearwater is home to a large array of dining options and culinary experiences, but is most well known for its fresh selection of Gulf Coast seafood, especially the Grouper Sandwich, a local favorite.

The Followers of Christ Church aren’t alone in refusing medical treatments because of their beliefs. Christian Scientists and Jehovah’s Witnesses do as well, to varying degrees.

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the Bible prohibits Christians from accepting blood transfusions.

Jehovah’s Witnesses, with at least 7.5 million active members worldwide and around 130 000 in the UK, are the most well-known religious community who decline transfusion of specific blood components.
