There were many factors that led to the rise of Greece. The geography, economy, government and more all allowed Greece to begin prospering at a fast rate. These factors, however, also led to the fall of Greece. Each city-state had its own form of government, along with their own ideas of what makes a good government.

The era of Ancient Greece lasted from the archaic period (800-500 B.C.) to the end of antiquity (600 A.D). Ancient Greece includes the Classical period, which flourished from 500-323 B.C., and the Hellenistic period, which commences with Alexander the Great’s death and ends with the invasion of the Roman Republic.

In the context of the art, architecture, and culture of Ancient Greece, the Classical period corresponds to most of the 5th and 4th centuries BC (the most common dates being the fall of the last Athenian tyrant in 510 BC and the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BC).

The civilization of Ancient Greece emerged into the light of history in the 8th century BC. Normally it is regarded as coming to an end when Greece fell to the Romans, in 146 BC. However, major Greek (or “Hellenistic”, as modern scholars call them) kingdoms lasted longer than this.

The Laconian War of 195 BC was fought between the Greek city-state of Sparta and a coalition composed of Rome, the Achaean League, Pergamum, Rhodes, and Macedon….War against Nabis.

The Visigoths were settled agriculturists in Dacia (now in Romania) when they were attacked by the Huns in 376 and driven southward across the Danube River into the Roman Empire.

It was developed by fans of gothic rock, an offshoot of the post-punk music genre. The name goth was derived directly from the genre. Notable post-punk artists who presaged the gothic rock genre and helped develop and shape the subculture include Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus, the Cure, and Joy Division.

Vikings were the Norse who went West, and the Goths were East Germanic, though they ruled Italy and Spain for a while. The Goths and the Varangians lived, raided and traded in the same areas from Vistula to Don via Volga and Dniepr, along the Amber Road to the East.

Like the Goths, the Vandals may have originated in Scandinavia before migrating south. They first breached the Roman frontier in 406, with the Roman Empire distracted by internal divisions, and began clashing with both Visigoths and Romans in Gaul and Iberia

The Goths, seeking refuge among the Romans, were treated poorly. Lacking food, they were forced to sell their children into slavery at humiliating prices. Emperor Valens, who ruled the eastern half of the Roman Empire, personally led an army into the Balkans to subdue the Goths

The other thing that goths are often falsely stereotypes to be is anti-God. Many people think that goths are Satanic or that they are in some sort of cult. However, this is not true – in fact, many goths are Christian or Catholic, although goths of almost every religion have been found.

The Goths, one of the Germanic tribes, had invaded the Roman Empire on and off since 238. Soon after, starvation, high taxes, hatred from the Roman population, and governmental corruption turned the Goths against the empire. The Goths rebelled and began looting and pillaging throughout the eastern Balkans.

Attila the Hun was born in roughly 406 CE, and he ruled over the powerful nomadic Hun tribe. Genghis Khan, on the other hand, was born in 1162 CE, and he was declared the unifier of several separated Mongol tribes in 1206 CE.
