Tupac’s Favourite Car – Rolls-Royce Corniche Tupac also owned a similar car to his friend Mike Tyson, purchasing a 1995 Rolls-Royce Corniche IV. Despite the fact this was the rapper’s favourite car, it was actually owned by Death Row Records label chief, the infamous Suge Knight.

Tupac Amaru Shakur first arrived in the Bay Area in June of 1988. He was 17 when his family moved to Marin City, a residential area five miles north of San Francisco. By the time Tupac moved to the Bay Area, he had already immersed himself in poetry and theater while living in East Harlem and Baltimore.

When he was shot and killed in Las Vegas in 1996, Tupac Shakur was living in the Woodland Hills area of Calabasas, Los Angeles. Woodland Hills borders the Santa Monica Mountains in the San Fernando Valley. Tupac purchased the land in August 1994 for $250,000, and built the house in 1995.

Tupac was born on June 16, 1971, in Harlem, New York. His mother, Afeni, was raising two children on her own and struggled for money. The family moved homes often, sometimes staying in shelters.

Despite his short-lived career, Tupac Amaru Shakur is without a doubt the most influential rapper to come from the Bay Area. Although he was born and raised in East Harlem, Tupac spent his young adult life in Marin City and Oakland, California.

What he brought to hip hop was a level of rawness and a poetic drive in the way he delivered his words. He had a level of self-empowerment that made people want to listen to what he had to say. Even today, you could fly anywhere and surely there’d be someone who knows of Tupac.

Shakur was born in Manhattan, New York City, but relocated to Baltimore, Maryland in 1984 and then the San Francisco Bay Area in 1988. He moved to Los Angeles in 1993 to further pursue his music career.

Tupac was born on June 16, 1971, which means he would have turned 49 this year. Biggie, on the other hand, was born a year later on May 21, 1972, and would have celebrated his 48th birthday..

Four were released before Shakur’s death on September 13, 1996, and seven were posthumously released, the first being The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, released on November 5, 1996 (although the album was finished before Shakur’s death)….
