The first sign of Scabies infection is a rash or patches of rash. A rash in the affected area has extensions or tendrils going out of the area of an itchy rash or severely itchy rash. The deep burrows are created by the itch mite on the skin layers.

The most common symptom of scabies is severe itching, which may be worse at night or after a hot bath. A scabies infection begins as small, itchy bumps, blisters, or pus-filled bumps that break when you scratch them.

The intense itch of scabies makes it difficult to resist scratching. Frequent scratching can create open sores that are prone to infection. Bacterial skin infections, such as impetigo, are the most common complication of scabies. Symptoms may include honey-colored, oozing blisters.

Signs and symptoms of scabies include:

• Itching, mainly at night: Itching is the most common symptom.
• Rash: Many people get the scabies rash.
• Sores: Scratching the itchy rash can cause sores.
• Thick crusts on the skin: Crusts form when a person develops a severe type of scabies called crusted scabies.

Scabies can be treated by applying one of several available lotions or creams to the skin. The recommended treatment for scabies is 5% permethrin cream, though additional medications are available by prescription (i.e., crotamiton, sulfur ointment, benzyl benzoate).

The prognosis of Scabies may include the duration of Scabies, chances of complications of Scabies, probable outcomes, prospects for recovery, recovery period for Scabies, survival rates, death rates, and other outcome possibilities in the overall prognosis of Scabies. Naturally, such forecast issues are by their nature unpredictable.

Permethrin, a pyrethroid insecticide, is the most effective treatment for scabies, and remains the treatment of choice. It is applied from the neck down, usually before bedtime, and left on for about eight to 14 hours, then washed off in the morning.
