Frame Parts of a Window

• The sill. A sill (the lower part of the frame) is a base of the frame.

A window consists of a frame area and body area that let the user view and interact with content in an app. A window can appear onscreen alongside other windows, or it can fill the entire screen (see Full-Screen Mode). Users can also click and drag the edges of the window to resize it, if the window supports resizing.

At the top of every window is the title bar. The center of the title bar displays either the name of the program you are currently working in or relevant information about what is happening in the program at any given moment.

The toolbar, also called bar or standard toolbar, is a row of buttons, often near the top of an application window, that controls software functions.

The taskbar is an element of an operating system located at the bottom of the screen. It allows you to locate and launch programs through Start and the Start menu, or view any program that’s currently open. With Windows 8, Microsoft removed the Start button, but later added it back in Windows 8.1.

The taskbar is the access point for programs displayed on the desktop, even if the program is minimized. Such programs are said to have desktop presence. With the taskbar, users can view the open primary windows and certain secondary windows on the desktop, and can quickly switch between them.

How to move the taskbar back to the bottom.

1. Right click on an unused area of the taskbar.
2. Make sure that “Lock the taskbar” is UNchecked.
3. Left click and hold in that unused area of the taskbar.
4. Drag the taskbar to the side of the screen you want it.
5. Release the mouse.

Press the Windows key on the keyboard to bring up the Start Menu. This should also make the taskbar appear.

In Windows 10, you can add toolbars, as well as folders, to the taskbar. The Links and Desktop toolbars are just folders — the Links toolbar lets you see all the files in your Links folder; the Desktop toolbar lets you see all the files on your desktop.

You could try going to start menu properties, autohide the taskbar, Apply, Ok. Then go to start menu properties and deselect it , Apply, Ok.

How to Hide the Taskbar in Windows 10

1. Right-click an empty spot on the taskbar.
2. Choose Taskbar settings from the menu.
3. Toggle on “Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode” or “Automatically hide the taskbar in tablet mode” depending on the configuration of your PC.

You can double-click on this icon to manually set the taskbar in show or hide mode. You can choose the “Auto” mode that automatically detects when an application is in the maximized state and hides the taskbar.
