Most Greek gods had similar characteristics, both good and bad, to human beings. They were portrayed as men or women, but they were thought to be immortal and to hold special powers. The gods could exercise their powers on one another and on human beings as they wished, for their own vengeance or pleasure.

The Three Types of Myth

• Aetiological Myths. Aetiological myths (sometimes spelled etiological) explain the reason why something is the way it is today.
• Historical Myths. Historical myths are told about a historical event, and they help keep the memory of that event alive.
• Psychological Myths.

Ladon. Ladon was one of the creatures in Greek mythology that looked most like a dragon. He was most known for winding his body around a tree in the Garden of Hesperides.

Goldwings are most commonly seen with bright, golden scales, although some Goldwings have silver or brown scales. They have glittering, white or faint gold or silver under-scales. One of the strangest, but most beautiful features of Goldwings is their diamond shaped scales on their face and along their wings.

14. Tribe Heights/Sizes

• MudWings are the biggest tribe, and also the strongest.
• SkyWings are the tallest tribe and have the widest wingspan, but their slender builds mean they’re much less strong than the other tribes.

SeaWings would be the third smartest and most magic dragons thanks to any animus SeaWings. IceWings are the smartest and second deadliest thanks to their frostbreath and their knowledge. SandWings would be the fourth smartest and third deadliest cause of their stingers and camouflage.

Farsight was an adult female NightWing mentioned in The Dark Secret and appearing in the prologue of Moon Rising. She was partners with Mastermind and an unnamed NightWing, and the mother of Starflight and Fierceteeth. She was killed while defending a SeaWing from two SkyWing soldiers.

Peril is in love with Clay. He was the only dragon Peril feels she can speak to, and she even goes so far as to bring him mud to heal his wounds and (a bit charred) food when he’s Queen Scarlet’s prisoner.

In the fifth book, we see that Sunny is a little jealous of all the time Starflight spends with Fatespeaker. And, with the jealousy, we see that at the end of TBN, Sunny tells Starflight that she loves him, but not like Fatespeaker, who is obviously crazy for our NightWing protagonist.

During the fall of Jade Mountain, Qibli also provided Princess Anemone with a spell to stop the battling NightWings and IceWings at the Battle of Jade Mountain, then Darkstalker takes him to the cave he was trapped in and offered to make him an animus.

Unbeknownst to the rest of her tribe, Moonwatcher was raised in the rainforest by Secretkeeper until age four, when she began attending Jade Mountain Academy. She is currently in a relationship with Qibli.

Starflight thought about his love for Sunny and wanted to be reunited with her instead of stuck on the NightWing island. His wish came true when he along with Flame and Fatespeaker escaped from the NightWing island and Sunny met Fatespeaker for the first time.
