The typical hip-hop dance costumes of over-sized T shirts and low waist pants are for the convenience of free and difficult dance moves. Today’s hip hop dancers still have the typical wears of baggy pants, low waist jeans, fat shirt, jackets, and heavy metal necklaces and bracelets.

Most dancers typically wear baggier hip hop pants rather than shorts, spandex or yoga pants that you might see in other types of dance classes. But a regular pair of sweatpants will do, as well. Make sure everything is clean and washed. Hip hop class is casual, but that doesn’t mean you should show up sloppy.

Breaking, also known as breakdancing, b-boying, or b-girling could be the most common element of hip-hop.
