Important Abilities CON – Directly affecting your Hit Points (HP) means that a healthy Constitution (CON) score is wise to have; we recommend clerics have at least a 14 CON score.

So you would be able to prepare 4 level 1 spells. Bless and Cure Wounds are always prepared as a Life Cleric, so they do not count towards the total.

Clerics know 3 cantrips and a number of spells equal to their Wisdom modifier + their character level.

But if you need something to go off of, they will always know at least 4 spells, plus 2 for each Wizard level including 1st. You don’t have to prepare your cantrips, and they don’t interact with your spellbook at all, which means you also can’t learn more from found sources unlike leveled spells.

Clerics have access to their entire class spell list and the spells they have prepared can be changed in their entirety any time you finish a long rest.

The Warlock gaining 5th level gains a new 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level spell and can swap out a spell they already know for a different one. So the example character gains a new spell and additionally can replace Hold Person with Hypnotic Pattern.

Druids like Clerics have access to every spell in their spell list. They don’t learn spells like a Sorcerer does or have them in a book like a Wizard does. They simply prepare whatever spells they want and aren’t limited in what spells they can take, other then they can’t take a higher level spell then they can cast.

Clerics and Paladins use divine magic, so both are divine casters. Unlike the sorcerer, the source of a cleric’s magic is not “themselves” but is rather a divine source. A cleric can indeed serve an evil deity.
