The Glasgow City Region (previously Glasgow and Clyde Valley City Region, also known as Clydeside) is a somewhat urbanised city region in the western central belt of Scotland nestled in the Clyde Valley and consisting of the following eight councils: East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Glasgow City Council.

Martin John Docherty-Hughes (born 21 January 1971) is a Scottish National Party politician. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for West Dunbartonshire since 2015.

East Dunbartonshire
Bearsden is an affluent and leafy suburb of Glasgow, located about six miles north-west of the city centre. Despite effectively forming part of the Glasgow conurbation, in local authority terms it forms part of East Dunbartonshire.

It lies north-west of the town of Helensburgh on the Firth of Clyde, in Argyll & Bute, and historically in the county of Dunbartonshire….Rhu.

The current MP for the constituency is the Scottish National Party’s Amy Callaghan. The current constituency was first used at the 2005 general election. There was also an earlier East Dunbartonshire constituency, from 1950–83.
