A force is a push or a pull. When you throw a ball, the force of your throw moves it forwards, the force of gravity pulls it down and the force of air resistance slows it down.

Gravity works at a distance, so it is a non-contact force. However, when objects are on the Earth (touching), gravity holds the objects in place or causes them to slide or roll down a slope. The force of gravity on Earth is an attracting force; it always pulls things downward toward the Earth.

Gravity as well as electrostatic and magnetic attraction and repulsion provide real life examples of forces being exerted by one object on another without them being in contact with each other. However, they are unlikely to think about these experiences as involving forces, i.e. pushes and pulls.

Magnetic force is a force, like gravity, that is able to act across a distance without touching an object that is attracted by it. Magnetic attraction is a pulling force.

Elon Musk’s estimates have suggested that building his Hyperloop-like system between LA and San Francisco (about 400 miles) will cost in excess of $7 billion. Hyperloop seems to be a really expensive and convoluted way of just making maglev trains faster. But it’s not speed that we need, it’s accessibility.

Hyperloop is a concept developed by Space X and Tesla founder Elon Musk for ultra-fast inter-city travel. The Hyperloop is a high-speed commuter and freight transport system that could reach speeds of around 750 mph (1,210 kph).

How much does it cost to set up a hyperloop, say for 10 KM? According to the sources , it is said that it would costs around 11.5 million dollars for a mile ( exactly 73 crores in inr ) for Elon musk to build it . So since 10 km is actually 6 miles it takes around 70 million to build.

India is not the only country seeking to pioneer hyperloop technology. Plans are being developed to link Dubai and Abu Dhabi with a hyperloop. Mexico City and Guadalajara are also hoping to be one of the first to showcase the new technology. The project has also received significant political and governmental support.

Like any form of transit, hyperloop transport carries inherent risks, and contingencies for any unforeseen disasters still need to be engineered into the system. At high speeds, even a small earthquake or the slightest breakage of a vacuum tube would pose a significant danger to passengers and crew.
