Holi ( /ˈhoʊliː/) is a popular ancient Indian festival, also known as the “Festival of Love”, the “Festival of Colours”, and the “Festival of Spring”. The festival celebrates the eternal and divine love of Radha Krishna.

Holika had a boon that made her immune to injury from fire. The moment Holika sit in the pyre with Prahlad, she was burnt to ashes, while Prahlad who was chanting Vishnu’s name came out safely. Thus, Holi marks the triump of good over evil, deriving its name from Holika.

It’s absolutely NOT bad to play festivals like Holi while on your period. Sometimes physical activity can even make you feel better, especially if you’re feeling crampy or bloated.

Uttarakhand

Holi also celebrates the Hindu god Krishna and the legend of Holika and Prahlad. Hiranyakashipu was an evil king. He had special powers that made him nearly invincible and he wanted everyone in his kingdom to worship him. Prahlad was safe and Vishnu then defeated the evil king.

A festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil, Holi is a celebration of the arrival of spring and harvests to come. It’s the Holi festival of colors, emotions, and happiness. But most importantly, Holi is the day when you will see the streets and homes of India doused in almost every color imaginable.

The splendorous and splendid orange of the tesu blossom of the Palash flower tree is the explanation behind its renowned sobriquet – the flame of the forest! Among numerous Palash tree uses, the tesu blossom is utilized to make colours for the celebration of Holi.

In different parts of India varying reasons are given for Holika’s death: Vishnu intervened and hence Holika was burnt. Brahma had given Holika the power on the understanding that it can never be used to harm anyone. Holika was good and it was her clothes that gave her the power.
