Like Ferrari’s previous “XX projects,” the Ferrari FXX K can only be used on a racetrack and is not street legal. It is the latest addition to Ferrari’s “Client-Test Driver” program, in which Ferrari keeps the car for you and brings it to Ferrari track events and races when you want to bring it out to play.

Production. Production of the FXX-K began in 2015 and continued until 2017 with a total of 40 units produced. Like the previous FXX and 599XX, the cars will be kept and maintained by Ferrari and will be available to the owners on track day events.

For the uninitiated, The Ferrari LaFerrari FXX K Evo is a $2.6 million, 1,036 hp V-12 hybrid that you can’t drive on the roads and you can’t race in any series.

Ferrari’s newest supercar is so extreme it’s not allowed on the road. The car is based on the Ferrari LaFerrari hypercar. It has a 1,000-horsepower hybrid engine. The FXX-K Evo adds complicated new aerodynamics.

The Ferrari FXX is a high-performance track-only developmental prototype built by Italian automobile manufacturer Ferrari. The FXX is based on the street-legal flagship Enzo Ferrari. Production of the FXX began in 2005.

EA was able to get the Ferrari license for the games up to Hot Pursuit 2. Then, they decided to change the direction of the franchise. In doing so, they decided they didn’t need the license anymore. Afterwards, Forza and Gran Turismo picked it up.

Ferrari vehicles were not featured in the series following Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 until the release of the Ferrari Racing Pack for the Xbox 360 release of Need for Speed: Shift. They were not featured again until the release of Need for Speed: Rivals, with the only exception of Need for Speed: Payback.

Ferrari automobiles however, last seen in a Shift DLC-pack but notably absent from all other Need for Speed games since Hot Pursuit 2, are also absent from Hot Pursuit.

The F50 appears in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 as a class 1 vehicle in the GameCube, PC, and Xbox releases requiring 80,000 NFS Points to be unlocked. It appears in the PlayStation 2 release as a class B vehicle, and is unlocked upon the player accumulating 300,000 NFS Points.
