Before the Once-ler chops down that first Truffula Tree, the Lorax doesn’t need to be in the forest. Not only can this guy pop out of trees, he can also lift himself up by his own seat and fly.

There was no Truffula fruit left for the Bar-ba-loots to eat, so they were forced to leave and look for food elsewhere. Secondly, why did the once ler’s business fail? The Once-ler’s business failed because they used up all the natural resources around them that he could use to make his product.

These little guys are cute, fuzzy, bear-like critters. They get sick when the Once-ler depletes their source of Truffula Fruits, and they’re forced to leave the forest in search of a new food supply.

The truffula tree is based on a real species of tree in Elliot’s house that Dr. Seuss saw when he traveled there with his first wife. The trees bear a faint resemblance to the clovers in Horton Hears A Who.
