Method 1: Extracting from Polyline

1. Select the Polyline tool and click two points along the leading edge of the wing.

Hello everyone, I completed a 3D simulation of a wing with winglet in ANSYS Fluent and exported the data by going file > export > solution data. I then selected the Tecplot format and all of the possible variables and domains (fluid domain, wing surface, etc.).

Using (free software in public domain), I type infinity via a “compose key + 8 + 8” keys sequence and it works in Tecplot axis label. Alternatively use the Windows Character Map to copy it using about 5 clicks, or use html code ∞ as shown .

Once you’ve installed a LaTeX tool, simply add a piece of text to the plot and click the “LaTeX” button to switch to LaTeX mode. Here you can enter simple items, like Greek letters such as phi, theta, and rho, to display LaTeX fonts. You can even include complex equations like the Navier-Stokes equations.

An “Create Mirror Zone” option will appear in the Tools menu option: Select the menu option and you’ll be presented with a dialog listing the zones and the plane to mirror. This is similar to the Data -> Create -> Mirror zone.

5.2 Using Tecplot to open the case directly

1. Start Tecplot, and then execute “File->Load Data File(s)”.
2. Select “OpenFOAM Loader” as the data format and continue to the file selection dialogue.
3. Click on the “…” button to open your controlDict file in your system folder.
4. Click the OK button.

Simplest way (if you’re using Tecplot 360): file -> load -> [fluent data loader] -> select the case and dat files. Alternate way: in Fluent, File -> Write -> Tecplot. Then load the Tecplot file into Tecplot.

Fluent has a very convenient option of exporting. If your problem domains are similar, you can simply use the File –> Export command. Select the zone whose data you want to export (solid in this case), also select the parameter you want to export (in this case temperature) and write the file. It is a simple text file.

File Save Project Select the Save Project option from the Write a File icon in the FLUENT toolbar. Alternatively, you can also save your Workbench project by selecting the Save option under the File menu within Workbench or by selecting the Save icon from the Workbench toolbar.

Optimal Solution for Opening ANSYS Projects

1. Open start menu type regedit in search bar.
2. Follow the below path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Classes > Local Settings > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Shell > MuiCache.
3. You can select the ANSYS version whose name needs to be changed. RMB click on it and select “Modify…“.

Saving Your Job To save your model, select Utility Menu Bar -> File -> Save As Jobname. db. Your model will be saved in a file called jobname. db, where jobname is the name that you specified in the Launcher when you first started ANSYS.
