Supergirl, while not as powerful as her cousin, is more powerful than Wonder Woman. She’s so much faster than Wonder Woman that she can disarm her of her magical weapons before Wonder Woman even knows they’re gone and without those advantages, Wonder Woman is going to lose this fight.

The most known alternate version of Supergirl is Power Girl. This version of Kara Zor-El hails from Earth 2 and she is considered to be the strongest female superhero in the history of the DC Universe. Power Girl is not the only alternate version, though, as Brainiac also created a Supergirl clone.

Like Arrow and The Flash before it, Supergirl took the hallmarks of the DC Comics character and introduced her to a new generation of fans.

Supergirl is a super heroine, Supergirl’s Cousin, member of the Teen Titans, the Super Family and is the love interest of Benjamin Rubel, Power Boy, Brainiac 5, Super Horse, Michael Harris, etc.

Both are female versions of male characters; Supergirl was created as the female equivalent of Superman, while Carol Danvers originally suited up as Ms. Marvel, in honor of the Kree superhero who first bore the name Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel’s real name is Carol Danvers, while Supergirl’s is Kara Danvers.

Supergirl has had a number of tweaks to her origin over the years, and her early connection to Superman wasn’t always part of it. Since baby Kal was sent off to Earth just before Krypton exploded, the Kara of the comics didn’t originally know her cousin.

In 1958, just one year before Kara’s introduction, DC crafted another Super-Girl. In Superman #123, Jimmy Olsen somehow gets his hands on a magic idol and uses it to wish for a female Superman to give the Man of Steel a sidekick (sure, Jimmy).

There was Lois Lane’s brief tenue as Superwoman, and that time Superboy got turned into a girl named Super-Sister after he was a jerk to an alien woman. The first person to adopt the name ‘Supergirl’ (alternately stylized as ‘Super-Girl’) was a bit of a cheat.
