As the story progresses, Shizuma was reluctant of her feelings to Nagisa and in the end had made up her mind, that she is in love with her. Towards the end of the anime, after a series of guilt-ridden conflicts and her own self-discovery, Shizuma realizes she is truly in love with Nagisa.

Sad news for Citrus fans, Studio Passione has not renewed Citrus for Season 2 yet. Hence, this may discourage the studio from coming up with a follow-up season. Studio Passione is also notable in making only one-season anime titles, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they decide to follow the same path for Citrus.
