Amazon is a low-key awesome place to buy grunge clothing and accessories. Most items are free shipping and virtually everything is super cheap. First of all, the grunge clothing section is awesome. I love the patterned crop tops, the plaid pants, the oversized flannels, and the band t-shirts.

Is DressLily Real? Our DressLily review found that it is, in fact, a real business that claims to be a “leading online fashion clothing and accessory store” that caters mostly to consumers looking for a good bargain on a variety of fashion items.

So, is Shein legit? The short answer to your question is YES. But some of their practices can come off as unconventional (and suspicious). For example, you have to pay out of pocket for the international return (read Shein return policy).

I’d recommend Shein for those fun items you only plan to wear a handful of times, like a party dress or a graphic tee, but not for investment pieces, like a winter coat or jeans, that you want to get a lot of use out of. Make sure you do your research before buying something from Shein, too.

Aside from using a couple of eco-friendly materials here and there, there is no evidence the brand is taking any meaningful action to reduce its substantial impact on the environment. From hazardous chemicals to carbon emissions to microplastics, SHEIN is making zero effort!

But SHEIN is one of the worst because the prices are so cheap that people overconsume and view their clothes as disposable. The quality also tends to be worse than other more expensive fast fashion brands, so you end up needing to replace your items more often (and maybe even spending more in total).

Not so brilliant: Shein & Romwe These cheap shops are some of the worst fast fashion retailers in the world. Their materials are crappy, petroleum-based synthetics; the structure of the garments is pathetic (they easily fall apart.)
