Nyatoh wood is one of the native wood found in tropical rainforests in Southeast Asia, especially in Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and the Philippines. It is often used in the manufacture of solid wood cabinets. It has tight straight details that resemble cherry wood. Nyatoh wood surface is dark brown / red.

Nyatoh is a trade name for wood of a number of hardwood species of the genera Palaquium and Payena growing in rainforest environments in southeast Asia, especially in Indonesia and the Philippines. Nyatoh wood is reddish and most species are easy to work with and takes to stain and polish well.

The Best Plywood For Kitchen

1. BWP Grade or Waterproof Plywood. BWP grade plywood stands for Boiling Water Proof plywood, which is known to be completely water resistant.
2. MR Grade or Commercial Plywood. MR grade plywood stands for moisture resistant grade.
3. Firewall Plywood.

Nyatoh wood peels well into veneers. It also glues well, making it a popular choice for ornamental surfaces. It is used for cabinet making, indoor and outdoor furniture, boats, utility construction and to produce dowels and concealed parts for pieces made from different woods.

Use 1/4-inch plywood for the cabinet back unless it will support the weight of the cabinet, in which case 1/2 inch is a better choice. Select 1/2-inch plywood for drawer sides, fronts and backs, but 1/4 inch is suitable for drawer bottoms. Plain front plywood doors are rare, but they can be made from 3/8-inch plywood.

Domestic plywood used in cabinetry can be commonly found in thicknesses of 5/32 inch and up, but for the purposes of a frameless cabinet ANSI HP-1 nominal ¾-inch thick panels are ideal.
