Guitar Hero: Motley Crue is a music game developed by Neversoft and published by Activision. It is the fourth band-focused Guitar Hero game and shares the same engine as Guitar Hero World Tour. In addition to Motley Crue appearing as themselves, the game features Nikki Sixx’s other band Sixx:A.M. and 5 of their songs.

On April 1st, 2014, the Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, and Band Hero music stores were shut down, and all DLC songs associated with them are no longer accessible.

Activision no longer provides new downloadable content for Guitar Hero 5 since the release of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock in September 2010.

Jimi Hendrix is coming to “Guitar Hero.” “World Tour” will be the first “Guitar Hero” to feature playable drums and a microphone. Experience Hendrix provided Activision and Red Octane with various songs from Hendrix, who famously played the Woodstock music festival in 1969 and died of a drug overdose in 1970.

Guitar Hero World Tour (October27, Activision) will include a Hendrix character, a studio version of “The Wind Cries Mary,” and alive version of “Purple Haze” recorded at the SanDiego Sports Arena in in 1969.

The Guitar Hero video game franchise is officially dead. According to publisher Activision, which will close its music game division and cease development of existing Guitar Hero titles, they’re ending the series in order to refocus efforts online.

The Jimi Hendrix Track Pack was originally only available for download as a track pack and not as individual songs, but Activision announced that in March the Wii would receive the Hendrix pack as downloadable singles. These songs have since been released with the second Jimi Hendrix Track Pack.

DLC was sorted by pack, then price, then release date (or if sold separately, price would be next to the song). On April 1st, 2014, the Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, and Band Hero music stores were shut down, and all DLC songs associated with them are no longer accessible.

These are typically released as packs of three, or as single song. These packs include songs from the first Guitar Hero for the PlayStation 2. Additional packs consist of songs that have not been featured in Guitar Hero before, and are masters, even though some are indicated as covers in the game. All downloadable content (minus the Jimi Hendrix songs) will be forward-compatible with Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero, automatically updated to include new features found in that game.
