Mathematics is one of the more challenging degrees at most universities. That said, college is really not that hard if you like the major you choose and are actually willing to read about and learn about the subject a bit outside of your classes.

Finally, there are a lot of students who finish a math major without much experience doing computation. The last time they did any serious computation was during their lower level calculus and linear algebra courses. Math is the easiest major on campus IF you have the knack for it….

Mathematics is much more abstract than engineering and that is what makes it more difficult. Engineering students in many engineering subjects have been tested in Advanced Engineering mathematics or Applied Mathematics.

Yeah you can do Engineering (according to the rules of West Bengal Joint entrance examination). You can get admission in a private Engineering College. But sorry to say that you will be in trouble in your Engineering if you fail in mathematics in board exam….
