Some of the world’s favorite pop culture comes out of Japan, where there’s a vibrant art scene and many young people. The country is famous for its food, and many of the amenities there will be familiar to people from Western cultures. Japan is a bustling, growing economic hub, as well as a popular place for expats.

An important finding from the report concludes that the net shoreline change in the short-term (25-40 years) indicates that 66 percent of California´s beaches are eroding. Central California, which covers the area from Point Reyes to just north of Santa Barbara, shows the highest percentage of erosion.

Protecting shorelines of coastal sinking cities is crucial to preventing the sea from taking over. Building on stilts is another way to prepare for changing water levels. And compensated foundations can reduce the stress on a city’s surface, which otherwise is a consequence of heavy loading.

The shape and location of Japan is gradually transformed by plate movements. However, Japan is generally not sinking. In fact, its mountains are becoming higher as these plates crush together. The 2011 Tohoku Earthquake did cause parts of Japan to sink.

Parents need to know that Japan Sinks: 2020 is a dark, mature anime series directed by Masaaki Yuasa about the destruction of Japan after a series of catastrophic natural disasters, and a close-knit family trying to survive the aftermath.

By the 10th and final episode, the only survivors in her traveling party are herself, her younger brother Go, the gamer/YouTuber/DJ celebrity Kite and the paralyzed scientist Onodera. Against all odds, however, at least three of these survivors manage to make it through to a happy ending.
