The answer is: you should use both your LinkedIn profile and your resume to apply for jobs! Almost every site or posting will allow you to apply with your LinkedIn AND attach your resume. The same goes for jobs you find on LinkedIn. You would see an option to attach your resume when applying with your LinkedIn profile.

Think of your LinkedIn profile as an online resume. Like your resume, it should demonstrate your abilities, work experience, and education. However, a LinkedIn profile can do even more than a traditional resume. It can include a photo of you, links to your work, references from colleagues and employers, and more.

LinkedIn is used by recruiters to source candidates for open positions, which they can do by searching profiles for skills aligned with their vacancy. If you choose to upload your CV instead of filling out your profile in full, you’re significantly reducing your chances of being found.
