The administrative county comprises 10 districts: East Hertfordshire, North Hertfordshire, Three Rivers, and Welwyn Hatfield; the boroughs of Broxbourne, Dacorum, Hertsmere, Stevenage, and Watford; and the city of St. Albans. Hertford, in south-central Hertfordshire, is the county seat.

The club was established in 1948 as a merger of Boreham Wood Rovers and Royal Retournez, and began playing in the Mid-Herts League. In 1951 they joined the Parthenon League, and finished as runners-up in 1953–54 and 1954–55 before winning the title in 1955–56.

Safe, affordable and within the M25, Borehamwood is the perfect area for growing families. With vast green spaces a ten minute drive away, it feels a million miles from any London postcode.

Borehamwood has a population of 31,074, and is within the civil parish of Elstree and Borehamwood and the London commuter belt. The town is perhaps most well known for its multiple film and TV studios (although only two of any significance remain), commonly known as Elstree Studios, hence the association with Elstree.

The Government’s Help to Buy Equity Loan initiative in Borehamwood allows eligible people to buy properties with as little as a 5% deposit. For properties in the London area, the London Help to Buy scheme operates.

EastEnders is filmed at Borehamwood in Hertfordshire, towards the north-west of London. Much of the location work is filmed in nearby Watford, which was chosen for many of the exterior scenes due to its close proximity and the town’s name being so similar to Walford.

EastEnders have announced that the set, which was originally supposed to be completed by 2018, won’t be ready until around 2023, so fans will have to wait a few years for more news on potential visits.

Pinewood Studios is not generally open to the public for tours. We operate a cinema that is open to the public onsite at Pinewood and Shepperton. We also host TV shows which are recorded with a live studio audience.
