Studios. While there’s no official “Harry Potter World” in London (you’ll have to go to Orlando for that!), the Warner Bros. Studio Tour is pretty darn close. The Harry Potter movies were largely shot in studios in Leavesden, and those studios have now been transformed into a museum-like experience for fans.

Alnwick Castle is the location used for Hogwarts Castle in ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. ‘ It has been featured in other famous films as well, like ‘Elizabeth’ and ‘Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

The Hogwarts Express as it is more commonly known, but christened 5972 Olton Hall is on show and available for all to see at Warner Bros Studio Tour in London.

The Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter is not a theme park and as such will not feature rides, or experiences of this nature, though there are a few interactive features popular with both children and adults alike.

Diagon Alley is a cobblestoned wizarding alley and shopping area located in London, England behind a pub called the Leaky Cauldron. Inside the alley is an assortment of restaurants, shops, and other sights. All items on the Hogwarts supply list can be bought at Diagon Alley.

In the books, the entrance to Diagon Alley in London sits on Charing Cross Road. Just off Charing Cross Road an adorable street full of bookstores believed to have inspired J.K. Rowling’s creation of Diagon Alley for the Harry Potter books. Each of the bookstores on this one-block street are worth a wander.

AUSTRALIA HOUSE – GRINGOTTS BANK The filming was done inside the building, which is not normally open to the public, although a glimpse of the sumptuous interior can be obtained with a discreet peep through the doors!

Australia has also implemented strict rules to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The visa for Australia can in many cases no longer be used, though a number of exceptions do apply. You can access it as a UK citizen on a visit to Australia, due to the UK and Australia having a reciprocal healthcare agreement in place. But if you move there, you’ll need to start paying income tax (which is how Medicare is funded, through a special tax levy) to access the system as a permanent resident.

The quarantine fee is a contribution towards the overall costs of quarantine incurred by NSW Government. Travellers will be charged $3,000 for one adult; additional occupants will be added as follows: additional adults: $1,000 each. children (under 18): $500 each.

To avoid an awkward situation at the Australian border, make sure your pet has received all the vaccinations required:

1. A rabies vaccination within one year of entering Australia.
2. Recommended cat vaccines – against feline enteritis, rhinotracheitis and calicivirus.

Do I have to pay for quarantine? The NSW Government charges travellers for their hotel quarantine accommodation. You will be invoiced at the end of your stay.

If you think you have such a need you should notify the hotel on arrival. You should exercise in your room where possible. Smoking is not permitted in your room. Needing to smoke is not a reason to go outside.

The hotels include Novotel London Heathrow, Renaissance London Heathrow, Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel near Heathrow and St. Giles Heathrow. Passengers can only travel into two more airports in England: Birmingham and Farnborough.

A quarantine hotel is a dedicated facility used to temporarily accommodate arriving travellers, while keeping them totally separate and isolated from the wider public.
