Unfortunately, GTA Online is not free to play, and players do still need a PS Plus subscription to dive in. A GTA Online standalone version is coming to PlayStation 5 in 2021 and will be free for the first three months, but even this will still require a PlayStation Plus membership.

GTA 5 doesn’t have an offline multiplayer. This means you cannot play split screen with more than one player. I wish there was an easy way to fix this but really its how the game was designed. Its possible to play online multiplayer in the same house but you need 2 consoles and 2 screens and 2 copies of the game.

2) Go to https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/friends/import and your friends from other platforms will be listed at the bottom of the page. Choose “Add Friend” on any of the friends you wish to have as Social Club friends.

If you are the one who was sent a friend request, click the “Friend Requests” button and search for the friend request that you wish to accept. Once you are in the game or in the GTA Online page in the Social Club, your friend will automatically be on your friends list once he/she accepts the friend request.

The tutorial begins right after the player creates a character and officially joins an online session. A cut-scene starts immediately where the player takes a car ride with Lamar, and during the ride, Lamar gives you the rundown on what you’ll be doing in GTA Online.

But, for now, the game doesn’t support any kind of cross-platform progression or multiplayer cross-play. If it were ever going to happen, cross-play would likely arrive in GTA Online around the time that the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game cease to get major content updates.

Does GTA V Have Crossplay? Unfortunately no, Grand Theft Auto V does not have any crossplay support regardless of what system you play on. There is also no cross-save support, so if you want to move from PS4 to PC, you will need to start from the very beginning.

Does GTA Online Have Crossplay? Although it’s still possible to play online with older hardware, GTA Online will shut down on the PS3 and Xbox 360 come December 16, 2021. PS5 and PS4 gamers can play together because the PS5 is still currently running the PS4 version, likewise with the Xbox One and Series X|S.

Rockstar teases GTA3 anniversary surprises. Grand Theft Auto 5 hits PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S on 11th November, Rockstar has announced. Currently, the game is playable on current-gen consoles via backwards compatibility.

More recently, Sony released a lengthy FAQ page about the PS5. So yes, there will be cross-play between PS4 and PS5, but game developers will have the power to enable or disable this feature, in their games, as they see fit.
