Even though Ed is supposed to be the idiot comic relief in Good Burger, but he doesn’t say much that proves for him to be uneducated. Rather, he just processes the world differently from most other characters, and shows many symptoms of autism.

Set in Chicago, Illinois, the series follows Kenan Rockmore (Kenan Thompson) and best friend Kel Kimble (Kel Mitchell), who go on a number of misadventures. The show features Kenan’s family, which consists of his father Roger (Ken Foree), mother Sheryl (Teal Marchande), and younger sister Kyra (Vanessa Baden).

Production. Filming for Good Burger took place from March 9 to April 1997. Most of its scenes were recorded along Glendora Avenue in West Covina, California including at a restaurant currently known as “Peter’s El Loco”.

It has an absurd silliness, some reckless driving, mild profanity (“ass”), and a lot of burger-themed pratfalls and puns, but it’s ultimately a good-natured slapstick comedy about friendship and doing the right thing.

Well, Good Burger is just as hilarious on the big screen as it is on the small screen. Even though this movie was marketed as a kid’s film, it can really be enjoyed by all ages. The plot is simple and has it’s flaws, but that doesn’t hurt the movie.

There’s actually a Good Burger sequel in the form of a book called Good Burger 2 Go, where somebody forgets their change and Ed follows them across the country to get it back to them.

Kenan admits that some of the communication between the two also petered out because his star continued to rise after he landed a spot on Saturday Night Live, which might have been awkward for Kel because he auditioned at the same time and did not end up being cast.
