Cornell can be either relatively easy or hard, depending on what school and major you choose. Overall, it is definitely harder than most other schools. Most Pre-Med students are always stressed out. Cornell is somewhat Long Island, but not at all nerdy (unless you’re in the engineering school).

Cornell has the highest acceptance rate of all Ivy League institutions (but it still only admits 11% of its applicants). Non-Ivy League schools that are comparable to Dartmouth and Cornell in terms of quality include Northwestern and Vanderbilt.

If you plan to study engineering or CS, Cornell is leagues better than Brown. Cornell is one of the best technical schools in the Ivy League. However, Brown is better at the more liberal art subjects. Brown is probably also a better student experience in terms of less stress.

Classes at Cornell range from very easy to very hard… but heavier on the very hard. There are a few classes that people will tell you to take for an easy A, but they’re kinda rare. But if you would rather do problem sets and labs than write papers, you’d probably find them easier than most social science classes.

Someone would choose Cornell over Harvard if they were looking for a top notch Agricultural School. Harvard does not have one. If you are studying engineering or hotel management, Cornell is definitely better than Harvard.
