GPE aside, it’s a fairly safe place. Possibly something to do with the fact that you’ve got Colindale police station and Hendon police college 2 minutes from the tube station, so the area is normally pretty flush with old bill.

Edgware (/ˈɛdʒwɛər/) is a suburban town in north London, mostly in the London Borough of Barnet but with a small part falling in the London Borough of Harrow. Edgware is centred 9.5 miles (15.3 km) north-northwest of Charing Cross and has its own commercial centre.

Colindale – 137 There were a terrifying 57 violent incidents reported in Colindale in January alone, making it the most reported type of crime in the area. There 41 reported thefts and 12 burglaries among other crimes.

High Barnet is especially popular with young families thanks to the abundance of green spaces and good schools. It’s also in demand with young professionals who are looking for quieter areas to call home. The average age of people living in Barnet is 40.

Colindale has been transformed over the last decade. It’s always been a great place to live for families or older couples, not to mention those looking for an easy commute into Central London.

Hendon is a lively, and diverse suburb located in the north London borough of Barnet. It is an ideal location for travelling to other parts of the city, with excellent transport links, plenty of amenities, and good quality housing.

Finchley Chruch End was the safest area of Barnet in terms of having the lowest crime rate. There was a total of 59 offences reported to The Met Police in March 2020.

Renting in Finchley East Finchley is the more desirable area of the four and is located around two miles from Finchley Central.

Crowned one of the five most desirable places to live in London, Muswell Hill is a suburban enclave surrounded by natural beauty, superb schools, quaint shopping streets and grand Edwardian architecture. It’s the London postcode offering the perfect laid-back vibe.

Some people say that you should only move to East Finchley if you decide to settle down, as the area is extremely “dull”. They also say that Muswell Hill (read my area guide to Muswell Hill as well) is posh and boring. There are so many charming streets, beautiful houses and green spaces in East Finchley.

Finchley Common is most famous for the highwaymen of the 18th century. These were robbers who attacked travellers at night along the Great North Road. A few were from Finchley chancing their luck, but most were from London’s criminal underworld.

East Finchley is a leafy north-west London neighbourhood that’s home to a pleasant mix of trendy cafés, fine-dining restaurants, and parks. Those living in East Finchley can benefit from a Northern Line Tube stations, making it really easy to travel in and out of Central London.

Transport. With quick links into central London and close to the North Circular Road, Finchley has three main Tube stations; Finchley Central, West Finchley and Woodside Park — all on the Northern line and in Zone 4.

East Finchley is a London Underground station in East Finchley in the London Borough of Barnet, north London. The station is on the High Barnet branch of the Northern line, between Highgate and Finchley Central stations, and is in Travelcard Zone 3.

The transport connections in Highgate are excellent, thanks to Highgate station (Northern Line and National Rail, Zone 3) and local bus services.

Archway is a wonderful place to live. I know it doesn’t look like much when you come out of the tube but it has dramatically improved over the last two years and living here is great. The transport is amazing with zone 2 tube and loads of buses to all over London as well as the overland at Upper Holloway.

Archway takes its name from the Highgate Archway, a John Nash-designed viaduct to carry Hornsey Lane over a cutting through a hill linking Holloway Road with the Great North Road, and bypassing Highgate Hill. Archway Road, a toll road, and the viaduct opened in 1813.
