Captain Tom Moore

More served as an important counselor to King Henry VIII of England, serving as his key counselor in the early 1500s, but after he refused to accept the king as head of the Church of England, he was tried for treason and beheaded (he died in London, England, in 1535).

Captain Sir Tom Moore has received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle. The veteran, aged 100, was joined by his family – daughter Hannah Ingram, son-in-law Colin Ingram, grandson Benji and granddaughter Georgia – at the Castle quadrangle for the ceremony on Friday.
