Is a longer resonator better?

HomeArticles, FAQIs a longer resonator better?

Resonators don’t do much for affecting the tone. They basically just take a little bit of the edge off of the overall loudness of the exhaust. The longer the resonator the more it would quiet things down to a certain extent.

Q. Can you put 2 resonators?

If your going to add 2 resonators I recommend getting two different length’s. resonators by design bounce a frequency back on itself thus canceling it. An 18″ resonator will cancel once frequency a second one of the same length will help a little. But will cancel the same frequency.

Q. Are vibrant mufflers good?

The vibrant muffler was perfect for what I was looking for. It had that oem look but with the 2.5″ intake it flows awesome, and the tip isnt oversized and fits the bumper perfect. The sound of the muffler is amazing, very deep tone even for a honda. Would highly recommend to Honda owners.

Q. Does resonator position affect sound?

The placement of the resonator wont reduce the noise as much as the packing of the resonator will. A lot of people buy generic exhaust systems and mufflers, or ebay junk, that look alright or fit fine, but when it come to expansion style mufflers the more solid they are the quieter.

Q. Does a resonator make a big difference?

A resonator makes your overall exhaust note louder and more aggressive. Resonators also have less baffling and don’t reroute exhaust gases as much as a muffler. This reduces back pressure, potentially freeing up a few horsepower. Note: Nowhere does it say that a resonator lessens sound.

Q. What’s the difference between a resonator and a muffler?

So What’s The Difference Between A Resonator And Muffler? Resonators change your vehicle’s engine sounds, while mufflers reduce the volume. When combined, your vehicle’s resonator works with your vehicle’s muffler to create a more pleasant sound that isn’t too loud or otherwise unpleasant to experience.

Q. Should resonator be before or after muffler?

The resonator is part of your exhaust system, but it is not the muffler. It is sometimes known as a pre-muffler because it is installed in the exhaust system after the catalytic converter and before the muffler. Some cars and trucks have them, others don’t.
