VCE Biology enables students to investigate the processes involved in sustaining life at cellular, system, species and ecosystem levels. Students use scientific and cognitive skills and understanding to analyse contemporary biology-related issues, and communicate their views from an informed position.

Bachelor of Science in Biology. The B.S. in Biological Sciences requires a minimum of 120 units, and is comprised of coursework required of all majors (see preparation for the major below) and coursework from one of four specific areas of concentration (general, ecology, molecular and cellular biology and physiology).

The Forensic Biology Unit is tasked with examining physical evidence to locate, identify, and perform DNA testing on a range of biological material. The unit conducts analysis on crimes such as homicide and sex crime cases, but also performs testing on robberies, assaults, and a variety of property crimes.

In biology, the most commonly used SI base units are metre (m), kilogram (kg), second (s), and mole (mol). Biologists also use SI derived units, such as square metre (m2), cubic metre (m3), degree Celsius (°C), and litre (l).

80+ is easy with minimal-moderate work put in. 95+ is where the real hard work goes.
