At the start of the Benizakura arc, Katsura is cut down by Okada Nizou, and the majority of his hair is put in a knot to show to Gintoki as proof of his death.

As I did some further research (yeah I know I’m a geek), Katsura’s historical counter part “Katsura Kogoro”, later changed his name to “Kido Takayoshi”, was in fact married to a geisha (a performer that performs and serve the customer) who hid Katsura from the Shinsengumi named Ikumatsu.

Otae isn’t pregnant either. She liked Kondo’s cooking, ate a lot and just got fat. I can imagine Sorachi laughing at all the Gintama fans. Gengai created a tiny copy of Tama.

Kanshichirou appears as an infant, wearing a patterned yukata and is almost always seen with a pacifier in the manga. A recurring theme in Kanshichirou’s appearance is his remarkable resemblance to Gintoki Sakata, a fact which leads many to believe that he is the latter’s biological son.

In this world, 5 years have passed, and not only has the land of Edo changed into an apocalyptic wasteland, but it is stated Gintoki has died. Gintoki was infected with a virus which had undergone an incubation period and the future’s Gintoki disappeared while fighting it.

Tsukuyo likes Gintoki romantically, and her feelings towards him were intensified during the Love Potion arc. Gintoki, however, does not seem to love and reciprocate her feelings despite sharing a deep level of mutual understanding and respect.

He still has a piece of the sword mixing with his blood but its still a matter of time before he regains full immortality. It seems Sadaharu sacrificed himself for nothing, Gintama has never been cliche but who know. Maybe there is some plot defying moment that leads to him being resurrected.

Sadaharu was originally an Inugami (aka Dog God) of destruction and attack, watched over by the Priestess Sisters Ane and Mone. As time passed expenses became too high and they were forced to give Sadaharu away, and so they left him in the custody of the Yorozuya whom he has stayed with ever since.

During his task of stalking Otae (which ended with Kondo following her to Yoshiwara), he ended under the effects of the Aizen Kou, which at the beginning didn’t make much of a difference except the fact that Kondo was naked with a chastity belt, but when Otae was also drugged, the roles between both of them changed.

For example, in the final arc, she says that she is now willing to marry a man. This could be seen as a denunciation of gay marriage if you squint at it, because Kyuubei has always been romantically interested in Otae until this point.

There’s no reason. He was trained by Utsuro (albeit unwittingly,) and he learned to survive in trials by fire back in the Joui war. His physical strength is there for dramatic and comedic effect.

You can skip the filler episode, they don’t contribute towards the story, although some of them are worth watching. So, do not skip any episodes as you will lose on the story and just skip filler episodes if you are only watching for story or if you do not have time.
