Because it needs to see clearly to navigate past these obstacles effectively, Skydio 2 can only fly in normal daylight conditions. Its advanced computer vision won’t work at night or in other low-light conditions.

Although it’s not waterproof, Skydio 2 has the ability to safely fly over larger bodies of water and the Skydio 2 app adds additional safeguards to keep the drone securely tethered to your phone.

How to land Skydio 2 on it’s case

1. Place your case on the ground with the Skydio logo facing up.
2. Fly Skydio 2 over the case so that the camera can look down and see the logo.
3. A yellow ring will appear around the case in the live video feed to indicate that Skydio 2 has seen the case and will begin landing on it.

In addition to being a fully autonomous flying camera with predictive subject tracking, Skydio 2 can also be flown manually while retaining full obstacle avoidance. Note that the Stop button will change to a Land button after the Skydio 2 stops following a subject).

As you may have known that the Skydio 2 can’t fly without a properly formatted microSD card. According to Skydio 2 website, it requires a UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) or faster microSD card to record 4k video.

To reset the Skydio 2 Controller:

1. Launch/Land button.
2. Return button.
3. Left Shoulder button.
4. Right Shoulder button.

The Skydio 2 batteries charge directly through the Skydio 2’s USB-C port. To charge: Attach a battery to the Skydio 2, then use the included power adapter and USB-C cable to power the Skydio 2 via the USB-C port. When attached to power, the LED light on the battery will begin to flash at its current charge level.

Always check to make sure you have the latest version of the Skydio 2 or Skydio Enterprise app via the App Store or Google Play. Make sure both your phone and Skydio 2 have fully charged batteries before updating. For some updates, you may need to switch to your home WiFi network to download the update to your phone.

What number do I use as the serial number for my Skydio 2? There is nothing marked serial number. The app will tell you. Tap the INFO tab, then find your vehicle in the list of devices, then you’ll see the serial number.

PLEASE NOTE: The Skydio 2 is not available in Australia at present and no time frame has been given as to when it will be. Skydio this month finally revealed the Skydio 2, an upgrade to its original Skydio drone, but with a lower price point.
