Q. How do I read my VA disability chart?
Look at the Combined Ratings Table and scroll down the left column until you find the number 30. Then go to the right column until you find the 20. The 30 and 20 combines for 44. If those are your only two ratings, you would have a 44% Va service-connected disability rating, which would round down to 40%.

Q. Will I lose my VA disability if I get a job?
If you are working and receive service-connected compensation, you will not be penalized by the VA. Working veterans will only run into problems with the VA if they are receiving TDIU and their work is considered to be substantially gainful.
Q. Is 70 PTSD a permanent VA disability?
Once you are service-connected for PTSD, VA will assign a disability rating. If you have a 70% PTSD rating, you might qualify for TDIU which allows you to collect compensation benefits at the 100% rate even if your combined rating is below 100%.

If you’re a Veteran with a 70% disability rating, and you have a spouse, plus 3 dependent children under the age of 18, you would start with the basic rate of $1,656.71 (for a Veteran with a spouse and 1 child).
Q. What does 50% VA disability get you?
For example, under the current wartime rates for veterans without dependents, a 10% disabled veteran is entitled to receive $123 per month, a 50% disabled veteran is entitled to receive $770 per month, and a 100% (or totally) disabled veteran is entitled to receive $2,673 per month.
