You only need a visa if: Departing and then immediately re-entering Macau may result in a shorter visa duration; You may stay for up to one year if you enter on your Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or Hong Kong Re-entry Permit.

Nationals of about 170 countries including India may visit Hong Kong without a visa/entry permit for a period of up to 14 days. However Indian nationals are required to apply for and successfully complete the Hong Kong Pre-arrival registration (PAR) online before they can visit the HKSAR visa free.

When you are travelling to Macau with a U.S. Passport, a Tourist Visa is not required. US citizens may stay in Macau for up to 30 days without a visa. For stays over 30 days please contact the Chinese Embassy directly.

Entry to Hong Kong from abroad is extremely limited. Hong Kong tourist visa is not required for citizens of Philippines for a stay up to 14 days.

Passport Holders of the following countries are required a visa before arriving Macau. Starting from July 1, 2010, passport holders of Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam are required to obtain an entry visa before arriving at the Macao Special Administrative Region.

In general, no rights of abode and thus Hong Kong permanent residency are granted to anyone by being born in Hong Kong, except both of their parents have Chinese nationality. Their Hong Kong born children can automatically granted Hong Kong permanent residency until their age of 21.

Is there a direct ferry between Macau and Hong Kong? Yes, there is a direct ferry departing from Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal and arriving at Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal. Services depart every 30 minutes, and operate every day. The journey takes approximately 55 min.

This means that people from around 170 different countries around the world can visit Hong Kong visa free for periods ranging between seven days and 180 days, while you’ll still need a visa to work, study or live permanently in Hong Kong.

According to the Henley Passport Index, in 2019 the Hong Kong SAR passport was ranked as the 19th most powerful passport worldwide, tied with Bulgaria; in contrast, the Macau SAR passport was ranked 36th, while the PRC passport was ranked 74th.

Non-permanent residents of Hong Kong with residency in mainland China are required to travel with the Two-way Permit along with the valid entry endorsement when travelling directly between Hong Kong and Macau.

You plan to stay for more than 30 days – obtain an extension with the Macau SAR Immigration Department, if necessary. You plan to work or study in Macau – visas must be obtained prior to departing the United States. You may stay for up to one year if you enter on your Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or Hong Kong Re-entry Permit.

The application fee is MOP 100 per individual, MOP 200 per family passport, and MOP 50 per child under age 12 and per member of a tourist group of more than 10 people. Alternatively, they can apply for an “Authorization to Enter and Stay” through a representative in Macau.

You may stay for up to one year if you enter on your Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or Hong Kong Re-entry Permit. You must possess a valid passport and Chinese visa to enter the People’s Republic of China (PRC) from Macau.
