The world population is projected to reach 8.5 billion in 2030, and to increase further to 9.7 billion in 2050 and 11.2 billion by 2100.

United Nations estimates that the population of developed countries between now and 2025 will grow more slowly than in developing countries. According to a report by the United Nations, the current world population of 7.6 billion is expected to reach 8.6 billion in 2030, 9.8 billion in 2050 and 11.2 billion in 2100.
