There have been some Scat Pack (6.4l) engines supercharged. I’ve come upon some posts on this. As is the case with other mods, if done right the results can be impressive. But doing the mod right involves considerable effort and this means it costs money.

Popularly known as two Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger trims, the term Scat Pack was derived from the term “scat,” such as “Get lost, scat!” and was a play on Frank Sinatra’s “Rat Pack”. Later, for a Dodge model to wear the term “Scat Pack,” it had to be able to run a quarter mile in 14 seconds or less.

The Scat Pack takes around 4.3 seconds to hit 60 mph compared to 3.6 seconds in the Hellcat. The quarter-mile can be completed in 12.4 seconds with the Scat Pack or just 10.96 seconds in the Hellcat.

The engine on the SRT 392 is the second most powerful engine in the Challenger lineup. The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is the fastest production muscle car available today. The SRT Hellcat is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 Hemi Hellcat engine that cranks out 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.

The Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye runs 1.2 seconds faster than the Charger SRT Hellcat on a 2.1-mile road course, equal to about 7 car lengths after one lap.

The Scat pack has a nasty 480ish horsepower, which is much more than most people will ever drive. The Scat Pack, with its beefy engine, regularly can break its tires loose when staging up. That can be very dangerous, especially for new drivers.

Dodge’s Demon would be a comfortable daily driver, but owners who decide to put their cars on the street often would be wise to pony up for a set of regular performance tires.

With a 6.4-liter V-8 producing 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, the Charger R/T Scat Pack Widebody has more than enough power for everyday, or even track, use, and it’s easier to control. The 305s have a better chance of sticking to the pavement and putting the power down than the narrow body’s 275s.

The scat is an awesome car and the engine/transmission is fantastic. It drives great and is extremely comfortable for daily driving.

While both cars ride on 20-inch alloy wheels, the SRT 392 gets wider 275/40R20 tires to the R/T Scat Pack model’s 245/45R20 tires. The R/T Scat Pack also features projector headlights in place of the SRT 392 model’s HID headlights. Each trim has unique exterior styling, while the SRT 392 gets a functional hood scoop.

Like the 5.7 Hemi, the 6.4-liter 392 Hemi version is a good, reliable V8 engine with even more power and torque. To date, there were no known serious problems with this engine in normal daily-drive usage. Similar to the 5.7-liter version, “Hemi ticking” is found on 6.4 Hemi V8 as it also has the MDS system.

“Well, the 392 is the original Hemi”, which I will accept, but not that it’s any better or that the current gen is not “real”.

The maximum mileage you can expect from a 6.4 V8 Hemi is anything in excess of 250 000 miles.

In 2015, the 6.4L/392 HEMI engine got a bump in horsepower to 485 hp @ 6,100 rpm, while torque was increased to 475 lb. -ft. @ 4,200 rpm, due to a revised intake manifold and tuning. The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and Durango SRT models have to settle for 475 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 470 lb.
