In the next few years, an estimated 20,000 Sudanese children fled their homeland in search of safety in what turned out to be a treacherous 1,000-mile journey to Ethiopia. Wandering in and out of war zones, these “Lost Boys” spent the next four years in dire conditions.

They were called “Lost Boys” because, during the civil war that’s been going on in Sudan (a country in Africa) for the past 20 years, thousands of boys ended up trying to survive together after their families were killed. It was amazing how Peter Dut took us back to the scene when his family was killed.

In 1987, civil war broke out in southern Sudan. This war chased an estimated 20,000 young boys from their families and homes. As these boys walked over a thousand miles to a refugee camp, half of them died. The survivors of the horrific incident later became known as The Lost Boys of Sudan.

The Lost Boys is a band of boys who were lost by their parents after they “fall out of their perambulators” and came to live in Neverland. In Barrie’s novel Peter and Wendy (but not the original play Peter Pan), it is stated that Peter “thins them out” when they start to grow up.

In fact, love for the opposite sex is one of the first syndromes which show our slow growth from children into adolescents.In this sense, Peter’s immunity to love is another factor contributing to his status of ‘the boy who never grows up.

Slightly is the second in command. He wears a fox costume and is shown to be the oldest member (and the tallest) of the Lost Boys. In the book series, he is called Slightly Soiled and it is revealed that his real name is James; his surname is never revealed. Nibs is the most active and is the bravest of the group.

He made his first appearance in the second-season episode “The Crocodile”. The character is played by Colin O’Donoghue. Hook is born Killian Jones, who becomes captain of the Jolly Roger after his brother’s death. His hand is cut off by the dark trickster Rumpelstiltskin as revenge for Hook running away with his wife.

Peter

During the early 20th Century Captain Hook soon became enemy’s with Peter Pan for unknown reasons and in the sword fight, Pan cut off Mr. Hook’s hand, then fed it to a gigantic crocodile.

Peter Pan, the fun loving boy who cherishes childhood is, in reality, a psychopath.

He is revealed of the middle of the book to be the old James Hook, who escaped the crocodile, when the muscle contractions meant to crush and digest him broke the vial of poison he kept with him at all times. The poison killed the crocodile, and Hook used his hook to claw out, but he was a changed, ugly man.

Although an antagonistic character, Smee was not truly evil; he simply obeyed his evil captain’s orders. In the book, he reformed after Hook died.
